Devices.fcp.disk.array.diag devices.fcp.disk.array.rte devices.fcp.disk.rte 5.2.0.11 COMMITTED FC SCSI CD-ROM, Disk, devices.fcp.tape.rte 5.2.0.11 You will need the changer driver. What will your backup software be? What type of tape drives are you using? RE: L700 tape changer on AIX server.
Here is the situation planned. Please let me know if you have done this1. AiX 6.1 LPARs/VIO are currently on p750 and p770; with no local disk; root/data vg in VMAX
2. Requirement is to migrate these LPAR to target DC p750/p770 VMAX, which is 140 kms away
3. No plan to move server and storage physically; rather procure newly at target DC
4. Storage to Storage connectivity established with FCIP 2 Gig
5. Plan is to replicate storage to storage using EMC Open replicator (Full copy of all LUNs)
6. Shutdown source server; Do final delta replication using Open replicator (Tail copy)
7. Do LPAR profile reconfig at target DC; start the target server
8. No change in IP and hostname planned.
I just wanted to confirm if there are additional tasks at point 7 required at target DC.
:) Will the OS come up automatically, with minimal LPAR reconfig?
or OS needs to be migrated in a different way, than the data. Need help to gather the following information from my AIX server.
which command to use to find,
Tape driver version?
I believe a Medium changer is a hardware device that does the work of getting tapes from slots from the library and put in drive. This hardware device is known as Medium changer in Windows server, do you know what it is known as in AIX and how i can locate it, to find,
Medium changer driver version and vendor's information ?
also can some confirm and answer the following.
also fcs is fiber channel HBA, right?
what is the difference between fcs and fscsi, and what is the purpose of fscsi?
fcs0 Available 00-08 FC Adapter
fscsi0 Available 00-08-02 FC SCSI I/O Controller Protocol Device
Thanks.
